BALLROOM

Somewhere someone got the order, to keep putting the same balls in the same box. Someone does this day for day, year for year, and yet no one knows why. In the hope, that the walls will not smother him, he begins to throw things at them. Someone starts to spin the balls for longer and longer rounds through the space, sometimes graceful and light, sometimes powerful and complex. Finally, – if everything goes well – they land in the box in an orderly manner. However, it does not always work out. And how many bad things can someone take? While the balls become a burden, someone somewhere is trying to unravel a new dimension in space and time - or is this in our imagination – to escape the colourless monotony. And if this works, something emerges which could be described as pure magic. The spectators sit in a converted lorry for ≫Ballroom≪. The visual artist, Lodewijk Heylen, has built up a set of concrete on the inside.
