Theater education is a special concern of SCHÄXPIR in its programming. On the one hand, this includes making content accessible, providing target group-specific and age-appropriate support and preparing plays to awaken and intensify the desire for theatre and the enthusiasm for one's own aesthetic expression. On the other hand, interdisciplinary and subject-specific networking is one of the focal points of the theatre education offers.
What is theatre education not? A telephone switchboard between theatres. Apart from that, it can be anything: a rant about a production, please - but not too abusive. A document about how-to theatre, sure - we have it (SCHÄXPIR Crash Course). A group of young people immersing themselves in stories together, absolutely - we have that too (SCHÄXpeer!). A stream of surprises, that's what it is for us. But it is also an invitation to say: I don't dare. I don't know. I see it differently.
So it is the start of a conversation. It's not about understanding everything. It's about wanting to understand. And in the end, perhaps that leaves us open to new and different things. If you find us at the festival, talk to us! Let's talk about your different. Code word: Blaubarsch.
Cultural education can be so much more than a simple translation aid between art and the public. It is a bridge - a connection between culture and people of all ages. For children and young people in particular, culture becomes something tangible, something fun and inspiring. In regions undergoing demographic change, this function as a bridge becomes particularly important: culture creates access, opens up perspectives and shows that art connects, moves and enriches people - regardless of origin or age. And the best thing about it? Education arouses curiosity and invites people to actively participate. It shows that culture is for everyone - lively, exciting and full of opportunities to help shape it.
Theatre is more than just watching. Theatre challenges, irritates, touches - opens up spaces for discussion, contradiction and new perspectives. At a time when simple answers seem tempting, theatre remains a place of questions. And theatre education aims to build on this: as an attempt to create a connection between art and audience, between experience and reflection. Theatre can make injustice visible, create utopias or simply question the way we live together. It holds a mirror up to us - not to lecture us, but to encourage us to take a closer look. And what remains? Perhaps a new perspective. An irritation that lingers. Theatre education aims to stimulate, accompany and pass on this process. Open, critical, curious. Because we live from exchange. So that something remains.
