AUSNAHMEZUSTAND

© Reinhard Winkler

≫It is all or nothing≪, Marvina thought when she decided to join in the environmental protests and turn her life around. Given the numerous accounts of forest fires, air pollution and factory farming, she felt compelled to play a more active role. At her first demonstration she gets to know Lea and everything is easy with her. Vegan meals, organising protests, fighting together for a good cause! But then she realises that her environment is full of contradictions which are not compatible with a climate-conscious life: Eating a vegan diet but jetting off to the Canary Islands by plane? Increasingly, Marvina realises that she won't save the world this way and that words must finally be followed by deeds. A small group of people think in the same way: ≫Break what's breaking you!≪ And any means will do, right? The theatre piece ≫AUSNAHMEZUSTAND≪ takes the example of the climate protests to illuminate the boundaries between political activism and radicalism.
